2020 Year In Review
A Letter from the Board
While 2020 was a challenging year for all of us, Oyster River Womenade would be amiss not to highlight and thank our generous community members whose support has been unfaltering. We saw our communities come together through virtual events like “Durham Gives Back” and “Let’s Hear it for our Hero’s” where funds raised were given to the non-profits in the area. And as we shifted our fundraising efforts to online through NH Gives Day where we were fortunate to have two matching sponsors; Budget Blinds of the Seacoast, Dover, and Wolfeboro as well as Riverwoods Durham, it was again our communities rallied to help us reach our financial goal.
We also want to thank our local businesses/ organizations: the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, First Seacoast Bank, Kennebunk Savings as well as Loren Selig of Arthur Properties who not only held a Facebook Birthday drive in our honor but also donated her commission to house sales for one month. The Makery, Local Barre, and Emery Farm, all held a day in which a percentage of sales were given to Oyster River Womenade. The funds from these events helped pay a utility bill, fill up an oil tank, avoided a family from losing their mortgage; to other short-term financial peril situations that our neighbors faced.
We are proud to share that 2021 marks Oyster River Womenade’s 15th Anniversary! This would not have been possible without the continuous support of our Oyster River communities. Thanks to you, we are strongly positioned for 2021 and have a great Board to lead the charge.
We invite everyone to visit our website: orwomenade.org to learn more about who we are and what we do. While 2021 is looking brighter, many continue to struggle with a reduced income as a result of the pandemic. Please consider making a donation today so we can continue to help our neighbors.
Sincerely the Oyster River Womenade Board:
Marie Bader, Mary Beth Carstens, Heidi Chase, Cheryl Hoffman, Lisa Keslar, Jennifer Sprague, Susan Swass
